The upper of the Trace 2 is crafted from Politex, a compacted PVC compound combined with knitted fabric and felt. This unique construction ensures the shoe is highly resistant to tearing, stretching, and ripping, making it a reliable companion for long rides in challenging British conditions. The minimal panel design and narrow Velcro straps not only contribute to the shoe's sleek appearance but also minimize seams for enhanced durability, reflecting the professional aesthetics of Sidi's pro MTB racing shoes.
The Trace 2 incorporates Sidi's RS17 sole, which features a nylon composition with strategically placed inserts for improved grip on muddy terrains. The sole strikes a balance between stiffness for efficient power transfer and flexibility for comfortable walking. The tread pattern is designed to facilitate mud dispersion, maintaining reliable grip even during extended use. Additionally, the rubberized Sidi logo in the center of the sole provides extra traction. Both the heel and rubber toe are replaceable, and the toe is compatible with Sidi's MTB toe studs, ideal for demanding conditions.
The design of the Trace 2 prioritizes comfort and fit. The Tecno-3 System dial allows easy and precise adjustment of the shoe's fit, even while riding. This dial works in tandem with the Soft Instep Closure system, a wide EVA thermo-formed pad that conforms to the foot's shape, evenly distributing pressure across the top of the foot.
