Colnago is the embodiment of fierce Italian determination and innovation. The brand was borne from the labours of Ernesto Colnago who started his career as a welder at the Gloria bicycle factory at a mere 13 years of age.  His entrepreneurial spirit drove him to establish his own bike shop and begin working with racing greats like Fiorenzi Magni and Gianni Motta, for whom he designed and built racing bikes and parts that helped secure them multiple career wins.

Colnago was also the first brand to win a major racing competition, the gruelling Paris-Roubaix, using a carbon bike. It later went on to launch the first commercial full carbon fibre bicycle that is still very much a part of the product line to date. Colnago unveiled that first racing bike with disc brakes in 2012 at the Taipei international cycle show.

Today, the brand continues to fuse tradition and technology in its bike designs with an emphasis on achieving superior handling and ride quality.
